Mobile Marketing: It's Personal. (it's also direct, viral and cost-effective)
Jamie Buelt is a former financial reporter and PR strategist turned mobile marketer evangelist. After 20 years of PR and marketing experience in banking, insurance, technology, gaming, the law, agriculture and health care with clients such as Microsoft, GlaxoSmithKline, AmerUs, Weitz and more, it only made sense to buy into a fledgling mobile marketing company that had built one of the best broadcast texting applications in the business. Since making the transition in late 2008, Catchwind has been on the move. The company is doing business with the gold standards in brands including Harrah's and American Dairy Queen. This year, Catchwind was selected as the texting platform for the 25th anniversary tour of the DQ Blizzard. In addition, The company handles texting for the Iowa Lottery, Syngenta, the National Breast Cancer Foundation, and it just launched the platform for Bullrun, which just started airing on Speed TV. Catchwind was one of the first mobile platforms in the country to market a white-label technology solution to marketers. That means Catchwind provides the backend technology heavy lifting for marketers who need a robust, scalable application for mobile. In 2010, Jamie was named to Mobile Marketer's Mobile Women to Note 2010 list.

President's Message
It was another great year for ADDYs, thanks to the support of many committee and board volunteers, competition entrants, and event attendees. Our local ADDY winners, both students and professionals, are now on their way to being judged at the district level of the competition. This year, an exciting change is being made to the way District ADDY winners will be announced and recognized. Instead of the typical District ADDY event occurring on one night, this year District 9 Governor Joe Mastroianni will be making stops at local clubs to present the District winners reel in each market. We?re excited to announce that on April 15, Joe will be making this presentation to AAF Dubuque. More information will be forthcoming, but please save the date for this noontime presentation!
Two more excellent learning and networking opportunities are being offered this month?the March 11 Mobile Marketing presentation by Jamie Buelt, followed by Creative Bloc on March 19 at the Waterloo Elks Club. As always, AAF Dubuque membership will net you discounted entry to both, so take advantage! Not a member? Consider joining us?it is worth it!
