Members in the News
Mike Keating of Dzine Wise recently adopted a river mile through the Living Lands & Waters organization. The goals for the organization are a cleaner river environment and to expand awareness of environmental issues. "I was tired of seeing garbage on shores while bass fishing and decided to make a difference. I hope people will think greener, and maybe take garbage with them instead of leaving it. 40 gallons of garbage were plucked from the shores in the Shot Tower area alone." Keating said. More information on adopting an Iowa or Illinois mile can be found at www.livinglandsandwater.org.

Kelly Jo Fassbinder owner and graphic designer of Imagine That! was selected as a 2009 Rising Star. Not only does Kelly Jo use her design talents for her clients from her home office she also uses them for community service, including the Dubuque Humane Society and many others. "I have found the best way to volunteer is to get involved with things you really care about or are passionate about," Fassbinder said. Congratulations Kelly Jo!

Mike Cyze of Clarke College was elected to the Asbury City Council. "I have had a great time
out and about talking to the people of Asbury, and
I'm excited to work on their behalf to move the city forward," Cyze said.

Jeff Simon of Kendall Hunt Publishing was reelected Mayor of Farley.

President's Message
Next week AAF Dubuque will host its much-anticipated Photoshop and InDesign presentations. Based on feedback received from attendees of Jim's September presentation, I believe attendees will come away from next week's sessions with loads of information they can apply right away. I am personally excited to learn about new ways to use these programs in the work I do, and I hope you won't let this affordable educational opportunity pass you by either. Time's ticking--you only have today left to register! Contact me directly if you have questions or would like to register, or use our online form. I know you won't be disappointed.

Best regards,
Jennifer
