Public Service Applications Due
Each year AAF Dubuque's Public Service Committee selects a non-profit organization to donate the time and talents of advertising and marketing professionals to help the organization reach its advertising and marketing goals. Club members are professionals from the tri-state area who work in the marketing and advertising industries, ranging from advertising agencies to printing companies.

The Public Service Committee is now accepting applications from non-profit organizations. If you
have a public service advertising campaign we could assist you in building, please download the application and return by Tuesday, September 15, 2009.

For more information, contact Annie Koelker.

Committee Members Needed!
We are seeking committee members to assist in this year?s Public Service Project. Committee members will collaborate with a deserving non-profit organization to provide marketing/advertising assistance. Examples of services donated by the public service committee include logo development, design of print pieces and advertising, media planning, and copywriting. Previously, the committee has worked with organizations including Maria House, Stonehill Adult Day Care, the Make-a-Wish Committee, Four Mounds, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Dubuque, Hospice of Dubuque, Dubuque County Conservation Board, Dubuque County Empowerment, and Crescent Community Health Center.

AAF Dubuque Supports Voices from the Warehouse
Feed your creative spirit Saturday, Sept. 12 during the opening night of Voices from the Warehouse Fine Arts Exhibit, sponsored by The Dubuque County Fine Arts Society and supported once again by AAF Dubuque.

The annual and celebrated exhibit runs select days through October 4, 2009 and can be seen at the Voices Warehouse Gallery, 1000 Jackson Street. This high profile art exhibit will feature regional and national work in a non-intimidating atmosphere that celebrates the infusion of art, music, film, theatre, architecture, and words.

Opening night runs from 7-11 pm, with food and beverages provided with a $15 donation at the door. AAF Dubuque volunteers will be managing the bar and educating patrons about our organization through word of mouth and good ol' fashioned guerilla marketing tactics.

President's Message
Greetings!

September will keep AAF Dubuque directors and members busy as we're working hard on service and publicity efforts on behalf of the club. Among our endeavors are the annual public service campaign, volunteer support of the Children's Treasure Hunt at the Pirate Party, and volunteer support for the opening night of Voices From the Warehouse District fine art exhibit. All of these initiatives give our club added exposure in the community, and in many cases provide us an opportunity to talk up who we are, what we do, and why others should join. Each of these initiatives require people-power beyond what the board can support by itself, so if you feel so inclined to donate your time to any of the club's efforts (and have fun!), be it the aforementioned items, for club committees (like service or ADDYs), in a board position, or otherwise, your help is always welcomed!

It's no secret that individuals and businesses alike are watching their budgets these days. With this in mind, I say thank you to all of our members for your support of our club, which allows us to continue to provide valuable educational and networking opportunities for professionals at an affordable cost. Your membership, your attendance, and your support are appreciated and make AAF Dubuque the strong club we are!

Best regards,

Jennifer
