Speaker Series

Personal Branding is one of the Hottest Trends in Business Today!

AAF Dubuque welcomes Jeff Beals as he presents Self Marketing Power on Thursday, June 24, 2010.

Personal change usually precedes organizational change. That's why self marketing is critical to building strong companies. Award-winning author Jeff Beals argues that employees have a moral obligation to use their gifts and talents, and the power of their personal brands to help their companies do better.

In a competitive, global economy, you need to stand out. Whether you're hoping for a promotion, trying to land a major client or striving to make a difference in your community or for the company you work for.

This presentation is perfect for anyone who wants to boost revenue, start a business, close more deals or move up the corporate ladder.

Jeff Beals is author of the award-winning book: Self Marketing Power: Branding Yourself as a Business of One, published by Keynote Publishing. He currently serves as Vice President of Coldwell Banker Commercial World Group and is host of a weekly radio talk show as well as a television show on an NBC affiliate station. For seven years, Jeff taught courses in the College of Business at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

AAF Dubuque Student Scholarship Program
AAF Dubuque has once again sponsored a scholarship competition for tri-state college students. The competition was open to all students having enough credits to be classified as a senior in the fall semester of the next school year and who have declared majors in marketing, advertising, public relations, communication, or graphic design. To qualify, entrants must be enrolled for the fall semester at any one of the following four-year colleges/universities: Clarke College, Loras College, University of Dubuque or University of Wisconsin-Platteville.

The winner of this year's scholarship is Dana Gevelinger of Mineral Point, WI. Dana is a student at University of Wisconsin-Platteville. The judging committee was comprised of two board members, and applications were reviewed by both Mission Creative and McCullough Creative.

Congratulations, Dana!

President's Message
As I stand on the tee box of the first hole, I'm excited at what lies ahead. I'm honored to serve you, AAF-Dubuque, in the coming year. I'm certain there will be sand traps, water hazards, and the occasional unplayable lie on the horizon. However, with the help of my twelve dedicated playing partners (board members), and my trusty caddy at my side (vice-president Tasha Lippold), I'm looking FORE-ward to a course record this year!

Pardon the golf analogies; it's just I'm so excited about planning the AAF-Dubuque Golf Outing. As you've heard, the dedicated AAF-Dubuque board of directors was planning on hosting a golf outing on Saturday, June 26th, to benefit the AAF-Dubuque scholarship program.

At this time, we've decided to postpone the event until late summer or early fall. As the board researches possible dates/times, I ask for your input on this event.
Please answer a few simple questions so we, as a board, can better serve you, and make this a successful event.

No Mulligans! Don't miss the opportunity to hear an award-winning author visit our club later this month. Author, Jeff Beals, will be presenting on Self Marketing Power on June 24th.

Sincerely,
Ryan
